To apologize, it takes more courage than bashing someone in this forum. But to be honest and speak truth, .. it takes much more than courage than to bluff. I saw some of your post on this forum and you just contradicted them all with this so called “last and final” note.

For now I will vote to remove the ban on your id but its not a bad idea for you to look at yourself and think about what you were doing in this forum for past several days and promise yourself not to repeat the same. Try to be honest about your posts and that would go a long way in this partnership

I may not need to tell you this but you are dealing with most greedy, money making machine in US govt. System. This organization churned out 200K EAD last year in 1 week, just so that they don't have to issue 2 years EADs. This org. is rejecting I-485 to get $1000 MTR fees, they will not spare any chance to take money from your pocket. I would say Instead of asking them for the fee waiver and wait 3 months for their 'NO', just give them the 5K and move on...

Requesting a Fee Waiver

To qualify for a fee waiver, a requester must demonstrate that disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations and activities of the government and is not primarily in the commercial interest of the requester. Your fee waiver request should include a detailed justification to support your claim of public interest. Your justification must also include how the information will be provided and distributed to the public.

AGAIN.......

Why people in the forum still asking people to convert from EB-3 to EB-2?
This is not the SOLUTION!! It will only make things worser and worse...

If people keep converting their EB-3 to EB-2 then what about those EB-3 filers that file their application in earlier years? they will keep stucking in the line forever! THAT's not FAIR!

It is not the time to blame EB-2 or USCIS! IT is the time to dicuss an effective way to to distribute the visa no. effectively.

DO SOMETHING CONSTRCUCTIVE! NOT ONLY FOR YOURSELF! BUT FOR ALL THE VISA/ GC APPLICANTS!

I probablly know the answer to my own question, but would like to know other opinions. My lawyere tells me this. Since the dates were current when I filed for my I485 in July, the application will be processed regardless of what the dates are right now. Another words, he thinks that even though the dates are showing as 2002, my application will be processed since when we filed, they were current.

is this true. If so, then provided I pass background check in time, i should expect my GC in a year or so. but if I have to wait until 2002 Row becomes current, in my case 2005.. then I am majorlly scrwed...

thaughts.

Your application will be processed until the stage where a visa number is needed to adjudicate your case. Since EB3 (am assuming here) ROW is not current. Your app will wait until visa numbers for your category becomes current. In other words, your last sentence may be true. But not if you become vocal about your plight and fight for it through activism (i.e by supporting Immigration Voice).

You do not need to have an SSN in 2008, since you can apply for the stithmulus payment in 2009 if you did not get it in 2008. This rule is posted on the IRS website.

The IRS webpage is saying something different. It makes it clear that you need the
SSN in 2008. (Second and last question on
http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=181995,00.html)

Please do not refer to the stimulus payment as a rebate in any communications you have. It is not a rebate, which implies the return of money paid. Many people who earn no taxable income can apply for the stimulus payment. This makes it different from any tax scheme. The fact that the IRS administers the program does not prove that it is a tax program.

This is what I did. But the argument is not strong. The same applies to the
additional child tax credit. I got more money back then I paid, i.e., I had to
pay a negative amount of federal tax :-) (So this country is so mad that it
gives me an H1-visa for working and in addition pays me some money
for staying here.)

Anyhow, the IRS seems to offer a solution now:

Q. If I have a spouse with an ITIN and therefore choose "married filing separately"
status to qualify for the economic stimulus payment and later on amend my
original return to "married filing jointly" status, will I need to return the
stimulus payment?

A. No. [New 4/14/08]

Unfortunately, I filed already in January before there was a stimulus law.

Should I amend my 2007 return now, then file my 2008 return, and then amend
my 2007 return again??? As reason I give to circumvent a stupid law.

The problem is quota of 90,000 visas is available for petitions filed before October 1st 2007. MBS will not start until October 1st 2008 (because of 270 days gap).

So assuming this is all correct and comes to pass what will EB GC applicants do from the date this is decreed to take effect (May 15th, June 19th October 1st etc.) until October 2008? Will there just be no applications allowed for over a year and existing applications made past the cut-off date get scrapped?

By AF. It was an OK experience, except for the fact that they loot you on the transit visa fee. Also CDG airport has got to be the busiest but one of the worst airports in Europe. My baggage landed in Mumbai instead of New Delhi, but was sent to me by courier in 2 days time.
Also don't ask a second time for the I-94 form, as the stewardess will frown and shove it in your face. :p
Next time I shall pony up the additional fare for Thai, Singapore or Malaysian and never flying a European route again.

There are total 27 EB3-I approvals on since Oct'2008. In 6 months, only 27 approvals is not a good number.

Does anybody know why USCIS is not touching EB3-I aggressively and are we close to using all EB3-I for this year already?

Thanks.

Yes 27 EB3-I approvals seems pretty low. Hopefully DOS would move EB3-I cut off date in May.

I am sure we are all rejoicing and this is surely a cause to celebrate.

But, the battle is not over yet. I hope once most of the members get their 485/EAD applications rolling, they will get back on track and fight for the real objective. To obtain our green cards in time!! Dont forget the wait is NOT over yet...

I am sure we all are going to be a lot rejuvenated and continue fighting retrogression with greater zeal..

Just to set the record straight even I benefit from the visa update, but I hope we dont slow down at this juncture...

waddle along folks...

Just called.

The lady's voice lit up when I told her I was from San Antonio. She took down my information and zip code.

She told me that she has informed other callers to also ask people from Mr. Smit's district to call. That would be more effective.

June05,

Encourage your friends to call for themselves and your co workers on your behalf.

if you can talk to your boss and have him/her call on behalf of your organization explaining the difficulty, its even better.

I completely agree with you. Most people in this forum do not contribute and those who contribute cannot part with more than $20. Yet nothing stops people from making statements like we need answers for disbursement of funds. Nobody held a gun to our heads and made us contribute, we all have vested interests in IV so alteast treat them with respect, and above all be prepared for disaapointments even after the contributions. I tell myself it is an investment or may be a sunk costs, all decisions in life are that way.

I don't know what the hell you are up to or you are expecting from IV? Remember they are just like you and me, feeling the pain of broken system. BUT, there is a difference
They stood up bravely to spread the word about all of us. Earlier no one in the capital hill spread the word for persons like you and me.

simple political equation why we (means IV) should also change the strategy. Need to work with someone much closer to Dem. Party and inner circles. I hope you are well educated enough to understand these kind of things. If not atleast do the following favour.
Send a PM to me and we WILL talk.
I'm not a core member,but a member though.
Hence i feel i also have responsibility to CLEAR some of your concerns and will do my best.
I'm a proud supporter of IV and will be.Kindly don't ever make bold statements. Your life is yours, but IV deserve some respect.

Contributed so far more than $500
Signed up for recurring contribution of $50/Month
Introduced atleast 14 members so far.

YES Baby!. I am making it to the Sep 18th DC Rally. I am also bringing my parents (who are visiting US) along with me to the rally. So, total count is 3.

Initially, I was planning to take them to just NYC. Now I changed plans and decided to show them DC as well. Since we are talking about Washington Monument and Capitol Building, I don't think they will mind at all :).

Go Fellows Go...

Really appreciate your commitment Please motivate your friends also.
Thanks a lot.

It seems like the group I am currently working in will shutdown in few months and more than half of the people have left the group already. I, therefore, need to find a job in next 4 months or so. I am a computer engineer by profession but trying to pursue a career in SAP functional field or DBA and looking for some advise from professionals in the field on training requirements/opportunities, career opportunities in different SAP modules, and how to basically get started.

What sort of help are you looking for? Please elaborate so that someone can help you.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to IRS and was on the phone with them for 1.5hrs and she said I can apply for her ITIN even though she is not here.

Anybody here got ITIN for spouse even though spouse is not in US?

Thanks.

You can apply for ITIN even if your spouse is not in US. I have done it ealrier but the only condition is she shouldhave visited US on dependent visa last year for your to claim?
