Do you think mass rallies by illegals has helped them? Did not it back fire? will be the same for us. Will not help. The question is not about being scared, its more about doing the right thing.
First of all, forget about back firing, can we get 100 people to do this. IV has been trying for funds and i dont think even 10% have contributed..why would u think any one would loose a pay day? even if you take 20$/hour i.e 160$ per day. Lot of members are not ready to contribute 50 bucks :) There might be a few who can not contribute due to various reasons and i totally sympathize with them but what about the remaining?
My point is not to discourage but just for a reality check

Rather I would like to add more items to what u have listed-
1. Its wrong for EB2 filers to find/marry a us citizen. That will be unethical of them to do as they will be jumping lines. Because u would be unable to do if u would have married non-citizen..so based on GCTest's logic please dont marry us citizen or if u have marriued continue to only use you EB2 application for processing :-)
2. Also people who are now planning of using EB5 (assuming u have now saved/gather enough money). So EB2, EB3 or other people u have been saving money and are now thinking of risking ur money/career/life on EB5 filing..please dont do that...because that will be unethical.....u r doing it bcos u now have money. Per GCTest's logic u did not having money u filed ur EB2 or EB3 application so if u have money now...dont try to use it.
GCTest...can u think of other conditions ...do post them.
Oh yes corollary to #1. Also bachelors in EB2/EB3 category make sure u dont fall inlove and plan to marry any girl/boy from the countries which are current. Help GCTest's cause.

I am in too...How can we organize all the members...70,000 is a lot of people, Any thing done effectively and efficiently will make an impact.
That's the main issue we are facing. People come on discussion forums and talk big, but when it comes to actual execution - it is very few people who actually do things and there is no regulation.
Thats why IV created state chapters where people can organize themselves and follow directives from our lobbyists and collective work towards campaigns

Made my first contribution of $100. Joined 10 odd days back and it helped immensely to have the community support going through the roller coaster!! Thanks to everyone for their efforts.
Did not want to say this before I contributed, but I still believe that the forum should not be only for paying members. By having certain parts of the forum open to public we can convert lot more people like me as opposed to asking for money right from the get go.

There are lot of good/standard consulting companies ... Some are 'con' but they can't create massive impact , however the MNC's do MANIPULATION at a large scale.
I believe that small companies have a big impact too. As someone mentioned, check to see which companies filed GCs in the last 10 years....Infy, TCS or Small body shops?

So July visa bulletin is out ... we will see comments with frustation and appeals to fight for the cause ... however, this is a prediction thread, so my prediction is that by next week, all affected people will accept the reality and will move on with their life waiting for August visa bulletin or for the next year quota. My purpose is not to offend anyone, but this is just the observation we all had in the past, so why this time around its going to be any different?
Now as far as those three bills are concerned ... at times I feel that they are just pacifiers to amuse the crying babies. We all can see that immigration related bill (fashion models, regional investors etc) are getting passed, but not the one's that we really want. Therefore hearings in the sub-committie and than in full hearings will go on till August, and afterwards presidential election will be the focus ... immigration reforms will take a back seat. New administration in 2009 will have more immediate priorities to fix the economy, war, etc. Immigration will eventually appear on the radar, but only after some time.
So only movement I can see in near future is EB3 to EB2 conversion. That's OK too. because everyone has a right to straddle the lanes. Out of that stampede, some will get approved, some will get rejected, and will create more mess in the system. But that's inevitable ... and if a mass transition happens, USCIS will have no other option to bring in yet another rule to make their life easy, we all can guess ... what that may be ... I think this is one of the reasons why USCIS does not allow 140 premium processing anymore. Now those who are hopefull for EB2, my message is that USCIS can very easily justify visa wastage this year because of the extra load they got from Citizenship applications. Personally, I do not have much hope of USCIS working efficiently.

Most people here just want to discuss but when it comes to action - you will notice that they would not even give out their proper name to IV while registering - so mobilizing is not as easy as discussing it here.
Discussion forums are good because ideas emerge here - ideas are needed for execution and discussing pressing issues must lead us towards a path to execution.
The question is - can all those who do that talk actually walk the talk?

On a more important note:
WHY is the "Contact us" link SO hard to find?? I was required to put in the IV phone number and it took me more than 10 mins to find it. I highly suggest that the administrators put the contact link on the homepage itself.

A Person cannot Travel before the AP gets Approved.If you do, means Abandoning your GC forever. Please be careful before you advise anyone on these critical issues.
If the person is on H1b, then he/she can travel without AP as long as they have an unexpired H1B visa and carry with them the I1485 receipt.
AP has nothing to do with your AOS processing. AP like EAD is for our convenience and has no bearing on the AOS process.
The only time it has is if someone uses the EAD /AP , then they are no longer on H1B.
As far as leaving the country without AP and then getting it mailed , there are mixed opinions (not facts). Some think it will come back to haunt you later and others think it is of no consequence.
I personally had a family member do this back in Oct but will keep this board updated if and when they have an issue.
This is just my opinion and take it with a grain of salt.

The cutoff date in Oct/Nov bulletin will be somewhere in 2002 so that people with older PD can be cleared. Remember it is only during last few months of the Fiscal Year that USCIS starts widening the Window (Example: In June Bulletin they moved windows by 2 yrs suddently from 2001 to 2003. So i believe they are aware there are lot of people in 2001/2002 yet without approval). During initial months of FY they keep the cutoff date tight which should help older PD's get through.

Since EB3- I is doomed can I apply for consular processing and move to canada since i recently got canadian green card. I have a EAD and AP and I am in H1B status too.
Gurus please suggest.
Maybe if many EB3-I guys would move to another country. Some actions may be seen.
