When you say these are the " ONLY REASONS", you should think twice. If your wife delivered baby on that day or if you had back surgery a week ago probably you would not be been in DC for the rally. GC Seeker 2002 I know how if feels to be in status quo for 9-10 years. I will complete my 9 years at the end of this month.
I want to share the fact that if we channel our negative energy into something positive it helps relieve stress and at the end of the day you earn and learn something.
It does not have to be studies, for me it is studies and golf. In fact I have gotten to be good at golf too. And one of my dreams is to play on PGA tour. Well why not!!! Some of the greatest inventions have been in serendipity. Microwave, correll ware etc. You may find something too. Take Azim Premji's example. Think of of it as some greater force that is directing you to see something in front of you and is phenomenal.
Also remember that you find the lost objects only when you are not looking for them!!

Picture your freedom!
You are contributing a lot to your job, but are underapppreciated and underpaid. Thanks for setting this up. When I used to see this tool on other sites like numbersusa, I was wondering how IV can use similar technology tools. Luckily, technology makes the same set of tools available to all the parties working on the issue and allows them to play on the same playing field.
Unfortunately I cannot attend DC effort due to earlier commitments but I will contact my key state senators (newly elected moderate republican key for this effort) in summer and is contributing monetarily to IV for DC effort and can help anyone for tickets/housing for DC effort.
Kudos to IV for setting this up. Great job!

First - EB2s stop replying posts that were written in frustration and you understand why, They will not affect and take away your GC. Since you are not frustrated you have to start first.
Second - EB3s - Frustration will never bring you anything and you can not move PD faster. Instead capatialize the situation that EB2s are getting GC. How you have to think and focus.
I can give my example. I made network of some who got GC and have some influence in recruiting. After working 9 years for a big Pharma and got layed off, My one buddy got GC long back in EB2 , helped me and received job through him though I have to drive 220miles everyday.
Am I frustrated yes!! More than anybody else here but has to calm down and think positivily.
Hope my post will help you to reduce some frustration.

Answer: No. The statute does not require that the labor certification or immigrant petition must be from the same employer requesting the H-1B extension.
I am going to talk to another lawyer next week and will post what he says here.

You do not need to have an SSN in 2008, since you can apply for the stithmulus payment in 2009 if you did not get it in 2008. This rule is posted on the IRS website.
The IRS webpage is saying something different. It makes it clear that you need the
SSN in 2008. (Second and last question on

Please do not refer to the stimulus payment as a rebate in any communications you have. It is not a rebate, which implies the return of money paid. Many people who earn no taxable income can apply for the stimulus payment. This makes it different from any tax scheme. The fact that the IRS administers the program does not prove that it is a tax program.
This is what I did. But the argument is not strong. The same applies to the
additional child tax credit. I got more money back then I paid, i.e., I had to
pay a negative amount of federal tax :-) (So this country is so mad that it
gives me an H1-visa for working and in addition pays me some money
for staying here.)
Anyhow, the IRS seems to offer a solution now:

status to qualify for the economic stimulus payment and later on amend my
original return to "married filing jointly" status, will I need to return the
stimulus payment?

If we are to acheive what we have set out to do, paid ads are the way to go. In a way we have to disseminate via propaganda the difference between us and the illegals and our worth to the country.
Stuff like this takes time and more importantly money. While IV is a grass roots organization a certain degree of sophistication vis a vis public relations will go a long way in strenghtning our stance and garnering public support.
Projecting ourselves to the media as educated, intellectual elite requires a lot of image building that would be difficult in a mass rally where huddled masses are easily seen as being the downtrodden.
If we are to acheive what we have set out to do, paid ads are the way to go. In a way we have to disseminate via propaganda the difference between us and the illegals and our worth to the country.

Eb3 v/s Eb2 is a nonsensical nonproductive meaningless argument. If you actively participate in speaking with the lawmakers, you would know the bogus nature of this squabble. Each one of us has a choice. We can continue with this pissing contest or we could do something to fix the backlogs. We all understand the frustration and anxiety due to the long delays. It is easy to be drawn in meaningless eb2 v/s eb3 quarrel in the virtual world when one is not privy to how things work in the real world.
If you feel compelled to engage in infra and trivia, please utilize your energy for your benefit by understanding the larger debate so that each one of us can employ our energy to fix our issues. Please use your energy in a positive manner. There is no point of this discussion. It is easy to write/post arguments just to support your own application/position in line. Anybody can do that. But such narrow minded approach will not help even a single soul on this planet, including yours. For those of you who want to continue with this bickering, you can do so at the expense of your own time. And when you engage in such arguments, please remember that whatever you all write or post about this nonsensical back-and-forth is not helping you or your family. But if you are sincere and care for this issue, if you truly care for your issue, then please consider participating actively to meet with the lawmakers to make our voices heard.
Members who actively engage in the advocacy effort know when we are saying. For example – talk to nearly 125 IV members who lead the lobby day in DC during the past week. They will tell you the bogus nature of this Eb2 v/s Eb2. Stop wasting your energy arguing thing which have no meaning. Please utilize your energy in finding fix for the backlogs because there will never ever be a bill/set of provisions only for Eb3 or only for Eb2.
