I posted this on another thread.. Recapturing lost visa numbers from yester years has to be top priority..
lets fight to recapture Visa numbers from the previous years.. As this article rightly points us, the road ahead:

Still unresolved is the issue of green cards that have gone unused in the past decade or more. USCIS estimates that 10,000 green cards of the 140,000 allotted for employment-based applicants were not issued last year. Immigration Voice estimates that 200,000 in total have gone unused in the last decade. Immigrant advocates have been urging the federal government to offer make these green-card slots available to help relieve the backlog of those waiting for green cards, an estimated 500,000.
Using green cards from previous years would require legislation from Congress. Lofgren says there have been "some discussions going on informally" about whether such a move is possible. But it's no sure thing. It would be difficult to pass such legislation in a Congress that is leery of any immigration issue after a comprehensive reform effort with the support of President George W. Bush and bipartisan leaders in the Senate got shot down earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, immigrant advocates say they will continue to press to speed the process of turning workers with visas into permanent residents. If somebody is sending this letter, please do not send it without taking care of word-suggested corrections. There are too many green lines, most of the times because of spacing between two words.

Do you know if you got an audit? Any idea about how they decide to do audits?
I don't think my case has been picked up for audit, at least not so far. I don't know the criteria for audit. Just hoping the next application they pull from the pile is mine.

here is my humble contribution of 100.
keep up the great work.
A suggestion, lets keep a tally where we are for contribution goal,
this will encourage everyone to contribute more and round off any shortfalls
in overall contribution.

I think IV has done a lot in just 19 months and with the core team, who understands every issue (BEC, retrogression, namecheck, etc) and working diligently to bring a practical solution, should bring a sense of comfort to all of us that our prayers are answered in the form of IV.

Considering 7% country quota and 26.7% EB2 quota of 140k, we get 2800 visa for EB2 annually. For first month this number comes out to be 234. Considering 1.2 dependents this means 106 families get GC under EB2.
I am sure they have more than 106 cases before the cutoff of 1 April 2003. This may also include people delayed by background checks.
But at the same time EB2 will get spillover from EB1 and EB2 ROW, so its expected that EB2 I will move forward. But how much that spillover is gonna be? Any data?

Envy, jealousy, and crab mentality will be our nemesis. If you think it's easy to get into eb1 then why waste your time? At least this category gives some incentive to progress in life. Why rock this boat?
No dear friend...what if you are already inside this country and waiting for 10 years. Even if you become a manager in these companies, you wont be eligible as you had to have at least one year outside the country. So progressing not going to help. How about a person who is less qualified, less experienced getting GC in six months when you wait for 5-10 years. Its not about jealous, its about fairness and justice. Dont bring in EB2-EB3 here. We are all in this sh*&t togather.

I missed the boat in 2007. I think the bigger point here is that people vent their frustration of their GC journey only in a blog hiding their identity. When it comes to real work of meeting people, most hide under their bed..
If the July 2007 fiasco hadn't happened, we wouldn't have had this mess. Most waiting on GC would have quit and gone home making the line shorter :rolleyes:

IV Core,
What is IV's position on ammendents for people who have filed PERM only and have not filed I-140 yet.
There shall be an ammendement which allows these people to keep using old system(EB) to get their green card.
It is totally un-fair to null and void their application and get them into new point based systems and force them to face long delays.
Please let us know.

Not to forget the people stuck in backlog centers.
I was stuck in backlog center.
Recently my company converted from Non-RIR to RIR and I got it approved
in a few months. In parallel, I had my labor approved via PERM too as a safety net, just in case dates become current.
I would personally suggest to change your case to RIR if it is not so and there
is no harm in getting PERM approval as well.

Hi all .. I am not writing this post to disagree with any one on any thing. I am very respectful of the members who participate this forum and write their suggestions/comments/ideas... Specially when I know people who are facing the same problem but do not make any efforts to solve it or join IV.
In the same lines .. my opinion , we probably need more followers and implementers who can direct IV core suggested plans.
Actively participating the Forum and visiting the web site regulary is one of the actions called for from Pappu (IV Core), you are all doing, I did that. There are other action items that need be implemented by who ever has ability, time and can direct others.
BOTTOM LINE, YOU FOLKS BRING UP INTERESTING IDEAS AND DEBATE TO THE FORUM .. PLEASE KEEP IT UP.
