I thought if we dont get the EAD after 90 days, we can walk into the US Embassy in the city nearer to us and get the EAD on the spot(more like a driver's license).:eek:

Not sure about which bank would be good but whichever bank you choose make sure that they give you a statement of how much interest you paid over the year. Most people don't realize that you can deduct interest paid for a home loan in India is tax deductible in the US. Just FYI.

You are right, Ramesh, sadly people have time to check for Bill updates and get their spirits down with amendment removal news but no time to get more friends to join or contribute. Please wake up people and contribute, and persuade your friends / colleagues at work you know to join IV. I got a weird response (chat) from a close friend saying she would rather donate to Myanmar/ China victim that her own Immigration cause, but I haven't given up, I will try to persuade such friends even though that raised my B.P. I am sure most of you have assets worth of at least $150,000. So if 300,000 are stuck in the backlog. This would mean if these guys leave this country, then that would be $45 trillion loss for USA.
Guys is there a way to get some media publicity of the possible loss of $45 trillion for USA due to US Immigration mess??

I see that most of the people who initially responded to my first post about the southern california state chapters have some recent activity i.e. they have visited this website in the last 2 days after my last posting requesting you to e-mail me about your availability for a conference call today. Not one of you has responded to my request to e-mail me.
I just want to make you all aware that IV core members can do a limited amount of work. They are definitely not superhumans although we expect them to be as such. If we fail in our efforts to secure any retrogression relief we will have only ourselves to blame in such a situation. Besides this is a very ripe time to be active and talk to politicians here in Southern California region. I would like to reschedule the conference call for the coming week/weekend depending on your availability.
In the end our best intentions and best wishes are not going to get us the immigration relief we want. We also cannot blame IV core team if we do not start working and lending them a hand. The choice is clearly ours. I hope that all of us will be more forthcoming and open to spending some time on IV work in the future.

If we dont take active interest and do nothing, we can only blame ourselves iif nothing happens in DC soon enough. IV is not IV core but each and every member of IV and efforts are needed from each member in order to succeed. Jimi, pls send PMs to all members on the thread requesting them to get in touch with you so that you can organize state chapter activites.

Hello All I just received mine and my wifey's AP's. We weren't able to track our file since did not get a receipt and did not have the file numbers. But to my knowledge my lawyer had sent our app's on Aug 1st. The AP shows approved on Dec 7th and we received it from the lawyer today now when I checked online status with the file number stated on the approval it shows "On December 26, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file". So in practicality out of the 12 months an applicant looses a month in transition time from being approved to physically seeing the approval in hand.

If I may suggest it may help our funding drive if we allow smaller contributions. (20$ or 10$) both recurring and one time.
I know at least a couple of people who would do a 20$ 2-3 times a year but won't do a $50. Anecdotal but may hold true for a lot more people.

Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.

Hence he was hiding for over a week and now is saying that he was out on a business trip :D. Hez full of lies...Admins, Moderators pls delete this thread as the "Monday" mentioned in the title has gone by and we dont need frauds still re assuring ppl about rumours - Thanx in advance.

This is one of the most serious issue we are facing in current time. Lay offs are happening left and right and on top of that employers learned that AC21 is giving troubles, they started squeezing more (I myself is partially victim of that).
We need sincere efforts sending emails to ombudsman. This will not take more than 5 minutes as NK2006 put efforts on even giving you the email template.
I sincerely urge everyone to send emails to addresses NK2006 mentioned above and even request your collegues, spouse to do so. We need volume to show our presence.
One more request, please take one more minute and make sure that you post here that you sent emails. This will give us real picture and give others motivation too!
